US Agent – Captain America – Hasbro Review

captain america us agent

After John Walker proved to be a poor choice for Captain America long term (murdering someone on camera in a foreign country apparently doesn’t mix well with being a top government agent) the Commission hypnotized him and gave him a new identity, sending him back into action wearing Rogers’ discarded black uniform as US Agent. Though his role hasn’t been quite as big as it once was, US Agent is still a high profile figure who’s expected to follow orders even when they lead him down blind alleys that the Commission probably shouldn’t have him following.

As a result, he’s often at odds with other heroes and antiheroes, especially those from the West Coast Avengers who don’t seem to have as much respect for him as they do for the real Captain America. But he’s also an excellent hand-to-hand combatant, a shrewd strategist and planner, able to use his shield in a fighting style modeled on Cap’s own, a proficient fixed-wing pilot, and fluent in both Spanish and Arabic.

Like most Marvel Legends figures, this version of U.S. Agent comes with a lot of accessories. He has a pair of fisted hands and another set for holding his pistol, and he’s got a great sculpt with a really grouchy expression that makes him look like he knows something you don’t.

Unfortunately, this is also one of the few Marvel Movie Adaptation figures from Hasbro that I’ve seen that feels and looks cheap. The sloppy paint, the weak joints and recycled sculpt are just part of what make this figure so disappointing. I’d have much preferred to see Hasbro give this character a decent figure that at least looked as good as Battlefield Captain America did.
