In a battle of wits, Captain America bests Iron Man in a duel that elucidates their greatest differences. Though they have never fought directly, both heroes have had significant impacts on the Marvel Universe, and the relationship between them has become one of the most important in the House of Ideas.
Steve Rogers was a frail man when he took part in an experimental U.S. Army super-soldier trial, which imbued his body with superhuman strength, endurance, agility, and other abilities. He is often depicted wielding a nigh-unbreakable, aerodynamic, vibranium shield as his signature weapon.
Throughout his career, Rogers has been a tireless advocate for the rights of individuals, fighting injustice wherever he finds it. He has earned the respect of his peers and admiration across the world, but he has also gained enemies, including the Red Skull and Taskmaster, who plot to defeat the Avengers by stealing their weapons. In the process, they target the Helicarrier, a storage facility where Captain America and his team train for their missions.
When Veronica Eden, a government agent turned Hydra provocateur, stages a daring breakout from prison, Cap and Iron Man team up to track her down. But there is more to her than meets the eye, and when Veronica turns out to be an old enemy of both, Cap suspects her of having ulterior motives. Despite great art and action, this story is let down by confusing characters, convoluted plans, and inconsistent pacing.
