Captain America is a fictional character who appears in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Originally created by cartoonists Jack Kirby and Joe Simon, Captain America first appeared in Captain America Comics #1 from Timely Comics (which later became part of Marvel Comics). He has been a popular hero in comic books for more than 60 years.
The origin of Steve and Bucky is not clear, though both are portrayed as having a father and a mother. Steve and Bucky are portrayed as growing up near a prostitution and homosexuality-filled district in the New York City. Regardless of the exact details, these two men share a common bond with each other.
The comic book Captain America X Bucky is a spin-off of the original comics. It features the first meeting between Captain America and Bucky. Both were reborn from their previous lives. Bucky brought Steve Rogers back to the present and defeated the Red Skull. As a result, Bucky took the title of Captain America, and the two became the official Avengers.
In the mid-2000s, Marvel Comics was going through a chaotic renaissance. After the comics industry crashed in the mid-’90s, the company was attempting to reinvent itself. New management tried new ways to tell stories and hired a new writing staff with very little superhero experience. They hired Ed Brubaker to write a monthly Captain America series, and he brought with him the idea of bringing Bucky back.
